The Small Impact Writers' held a very successful Poetry and Short Story Competition last night, in the Meath County Library, Navan, in conjunction with St Valentines Day. The Theme for the competition was " Love Lost, Love Found"
Edel Gillick and Jim Byrne were presenters on the night and kept the audience entertained with their wit and even read some of their own poetry. Pat McConnon who is also a member of the writers' Group and therefore barred from entering the competition, started the readings with his interpretation of the Trush's mating call which if you listen carefully can be heard at the beginning of the video below. Other members of the group who read were: Kieran Murray, Christopher. R Azzie. Mossie Forde, Sean Reilly entertained the audience with his singing and I made an attempt at singing myself.Congratulations to all involved.
